Defence of the TFG ‘AppPIVal’ by Juan Alfonso Velasco Cabrero

Juan Alfonso Velasco Cabrero defended his TFG work entitled AppPIVal: Automation of Security Analysis in Mobile Applications and Integration with External Tools through Mobile Security Framework (MobSF).

This work has been tutored by Amador Aparicio de la Fuente and M. Mercedes Martínez González, members of the Privacy Engineering Research Group of the School of Computer Engineering of the University of Valladolid.

MobSF (Mobile Security Framework) is a widely used tool to analyse the security of mobile applications. Based on it, Juan has developed a tool that automates the analysis process, including:

– ✅Simultaneous static analysis of multiple applications.

– ✅Automation of dynamic analysis.

– ✅Verification of previous analysis.

– ✅Calculation of a privacy score, an index that complements the MobSF security score to evaluate the privacy of apps.

This TFG, which is part of the App-PI Project, brings a significant improvement in the efficiency of mobile security analysis and privacy assessment, which facilitates auditing and control tasks in app development.

Congratulations, Juan, for your great work!
