The App-PIMD (App Privacy Impact MetaData) repository provides centralized storage of mobile app metadata. It allows researchers, developers and companies to query metadata, such as name, hash, version, permissions, compatibility and more. Details of the available metadata can be found in the usage documentation (see link below on this page). App-PIMD also provides indicators of the level of privacy intrusion of application users, which can be compared with each other.
App-PIMD is offered for open use. It can be used through a public API. The API is continuously evolving, facilitating integration with other platforms and services. Its support for advanced queries by app name and content updates is being extended. It currently contains data from Android applications. Its extension to other ecosystems, such as iOS, is in progress.
App-PIMD is a tool for privacy and security engineering research. It provides structured data and open access for the analysis of applications in terms of security and data protection. Possible applications or uses include recognizing information collection patterns, assessing privacy risks, and developing strategies to mitigate intrusions. If you use the repository and have any request or suggestion, do not hesitate to contact us.
