Teresa Jiménez del Bosque defended in July her TFG entitled AuditSApp: Method for auditing the security of a mobile application, at the School of Computer Engineering of the University of Valladolid.
This work has been tutored by M. Mercedes Martínez González, principal investigator (PI) at the Privacy Engineering Research Group (IngPriv).
In her research, Teresa addresses an important challenge regarding the security analysis of mobile applications: how to select the most relevant tests when privacy is a concern?
Starting from the OWASP Mobile standard, which offers an extensive set of tests, Teresa proposed and developed a method to select specific tests according to the functionality of each application. This method was also applied to real apps available on Google Play, showing its practical usefulness for auditing security from a user privacy-centric approach.
Congratulations, Teresa, for your great work and contribution to privacy auditing in mobile environments!
